Proper care before, during and after treatment plays a vital role in achieving the best possible health outcomes.

Your Treatment Timeline

What to do at each stage

  1. Before your consultation

    Bring previous medical records, prescriptions, blood test reports, imaging reports, a list of current medications, details of allergies and a valid photo ID.

    • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
    • Tell your doctor if you are diabetic or hypertensive.
    • Tell your doctor if you take blood thinners or long-term medications.
    • Tell your doctor about any medicine allergies.
    • Tell your doctor if you were recently operated on or hospitalised.
  2. Before starting Ayurvedic treatment

    • Attend a detailed medical consultation.
    • Share complete and accurate medical history.
    • Follow all prescribed investigations, if advised.
    • Inform your doctor about all current medications and supplements.
    • Avoid self-medication.
    • Discuss any concerns or questions with your physician.
  3. Before Panchakarma therapy

    • Eat a light meal 2–3 hours before therapy, unless instructed otherwise.
    • Wear comfortable, loose-fitting cotton clothing.
    • Remove jewellery and valuables before treatment.
    • Avoid heavy exercise on the day of therapy.
    • Do not consume alcohol or tobacco.
    • Arrive on time for your scheduled session.
  4. During treatment

    • Take medicines exactly as prescribed.
    • Attend all scheduled therapy sessions.
    • Follow the recommended diet (Pathya).
    • Drink sufficient water, unless otherwise advised.
    • Take adequate rest and avoid skipping medications.
    • Inform your doctor immediately if you experience any unusual symptoms.
  5. During Panchakarma

    • Relax and cooperate during the procedure.
    • Follow the therapist’s instructions.
    • Maintain personal hygiene.
    • Avoid exposure to cold wind or cold water immediately after therapy.
    • Avoid strenuous physical activity.
    • Follow the prescribed dietary regimen.
  6. After Panchakarma therapy

    • Rest for the recommended period.
    • Continue prescribed medicines.
    • Follow the advised diet and lifestyle.
    • Avoid heavy meals immediately after treatment.
    • Drink warm water if advised.
    • Avoid excessive travel and physical exertion for a short period.
    • Attend follow-up consultations as scheduled.

  • Freshly prepared home-cooked meals
  • Warm, easily digestible food
  • Rice, moong dal, vegetable soups
  • Seasonal fruits
  • Cooked vegetables
  • Plenty of fluids (as advised)

Foods to avoid

  • Deep-fried foods
  • Fast food
  • Processed foods
  • Carbonated drinks
  • Excess sweets
  • Excessively spicy foods
  • Cold beverages
  • Reheated food

Lifestyle After Treatment

Maintaining long-term health

  • Wake up early and maintain a regular routine.
  • Practise Yoga and stretching as advised.
  • Walk regularly according to your ability.
  • Maintain a healthy body weight.
  • Sleep 7–8 hours daily.
  • Manage stress through meditation or breathing exercises.
  • Avoid tobacco and alcohol.
  • Continue healthy eating habits.

Medicine Instructions

Using your medicines safely

  • Take medicines only as prescribed.
  • Complete the full course of treatment.
  • Do not stop medicines without consulting your doctor.
  • Store medicines according to the instructions on the label.
  • Keep medicines out of the reach of children.
  • Contact the hospital if you have any questions regarding your prescription.
